The Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE) conducts the National Eligibility Test (NET) Exam on behalf of University Grant Commission (UGC). The NET exam determines the eligibility for the recruitment of Assistant Professor and for the award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF). The UGC NET exam is only for Indian Nationals.



UGC NET Exam Pattern:

The UGC NET exam is based on the pattern of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). The Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) have Four options (answer key) and you have to choose the right one. Before July 2018 notification, the NET exam was of three papers (Paper I, Paper II and Paper III). Now, there are two papers (Paper I and Paper II)  instead of three (Paper I, Paper II and Paper III).

Now, the UGC NET with pen and paper is history. The new pattern of UGC NET exam will be Computer Based.

UGC NET Exam New Pattern 2019:

Paper II:
 100 objective type compulsory questions. These will be based on the subject selected by the candidates. Each question will carry 2 marks. Paper I: 
50 (fifty) multiple choice questions of 2  marks each. The candidate would be required to answer all 50 (fifty).

After the completion of UGC NET Exam, the CBSE uploads the provisional answer keys on official websites. After that, the candidates can challenge against any wrong answer key through the official portal. And, the candidates have to pay for challenges for each question. Finally, the updated (final) answer key will be updated with UGC NET result. Therefore, the candidate should use only the final answer key for all papers (Paper 1, Paper 2 and Paper 3 ).

For UGC NET exam Preparation, aspirants have a focus on conceptual study. In addition, there is a need of practice on MCQs with concept clarification. Hence, UGC NET aspirants need full attention on previous year question papers. In addition, the previous year question papers require correct answer key from the official website.
